Install Instructions

Please review the install instructions below. If you have any questions, please reach out to us before making any mistakes. All of our vinyl products are made cut and ready to install, but professional is recommended for some for some of the more bigger installs.

Vinyl Application Instructions. Hood side and alike

Apply to the surface when the surface temperature is between 50 and 80 degrees F. Avoid application in windy conditions and seek another person’s assistance before applying large graphics. Professional installation is always recommended.

Tools Needed: Scissors, Tape Measure, Masking Tape and Squeegee

Clean the surface thoroughly. Remove any dirt, grease, residue, etc. using alcohol if available

  • Before attempting to install, lay the decal on a flat surface and squeegee the entire vinyl kit down to help the transfer paper in lifting the vinyl; perform a “pre-peel” by peeling back the top layer, at a 45-degree angle, to make sure the decal is sticking to the application tap properly and then lay it back down on the backing paper.

NOTE: If the decal is not sticking, STOP and lay the tape back down, apply pressure to the areas that are not sticking and then make another attempt to lift the tape and the decal, you may have to stick the transfer paper back down, squeeze the 3 layers together and try again. If it still is not working correctly, contact us. for further instructions.

  • Measure the area where the vinyl will be installed. Measure the length of the decal. Subtract the vinyl from the area, then divide that number by 2; that is the space that you should have on both sides of the decal to ensure it is centered. Please painters’ tape to mark that distance.
  • Tape the graphic in the general area to which it will be applied.
  • Tape down the center once the graphic is measured into place, ensure the tape is making contact on vehicle and the vinyl, on both side of it, to create a hinge.
  • Lift one side of the graphic and separate the application tape from the backing paper (the decal should stick to the clear application tape). Using scissors, cut away that half of the backing paper.
  • Hold the application paper away from the working surfaces, keeping it slightly slack and squeegee outward from the center. Push squeegee firmly against the surface, hard enough to squeegee out any air from beneath the decal.
  • Discard the center strip of masking tape and lift the remaining side of the graphic. Remove the backing paper and squeegee outward from the center.
  • Squeegee the entire graphic again, pressing firmly.
  • Remove the application tape by pulling it back on itself, at a 45-degree angle.

Vinyl Application Instructions. Side Fender Vents

Apply to the surface when the surface temperature is between 50 and 80 degrees F. Avoid application in windy conditions and seek another person’s assistance before applying large graphics. Professional installation is always recommended.

Tools Needed: Scissors, Tape Measure, Masking Tape and Felt-tip Squeegee

Clean the surface thoroughly. Remove any dirt, grease, residue, etc. using alcohol if available

  • Before attempting to install, lay the decal on a flat surface and ensure the vinyl is straight and free on bends from shipping; sometimes you can let it fit for a couple of hours in room temperature, so it flattens out on its own. Side fender vent decal, or any other one-piece vinyl, do not come with transfer paper because it is not required.
  • With painter’s tape, tape the front sharp corner of the graphic in place, so that you can gauge where the rest of the vinyl must be installed.
  • Remove the half of the backing paper, the white wax paper, halfway and cut it off, while the front end is still taped and maintains the backing paper, so you don’t have to worry about that end for now. Use the body lines to center the vinyl using the upper line and plastic trim in front of the curve and rear body line. Lightly lay the vinyl in place.
  • This vinyl is activated with pressure, so only press it place once you are sure it is the right position. Work your finger from the outside edges, and center, to meet the backing paper that remains. At this point, remove the rest of the backing paper and finish the installation. Now you can finish pressing the vinyl in place with a squeegee.
  • If you notice any air bubbles, lightly press the center of the bubbles, with your thumb to disperse the air bubble into the air channels that the vinyl contains. Use a rolling motion on your thumb to finish flattening out any air bubbles.
  • Squeegee the entire graphic again, pressing firmly.
  • Repeat these steps for the other side.

Vinyl Application Instructions. Hood Top Insert

Apply to the surface when the surface temperature is between 50 and 80 degrees F. Avoid application in windy conditions and seek another person’s assistance before applying large graphics. Professional installation is always recommended.

Hood top insert decals, or any other one-piece vinyl, do not come with transfer paper because it is not required.
  • You need to remove the windshield washer nozzles: Open your hood and remove the heat shield that is underneath, by removing all the panel holders with a panel removal tool, or flat-head screwdriver, and save these because you will need to install them once complete. With the heatshield out of the way, remove the washer fluid lines by twisting and pulling away; rubber nose pliers help in this, because they could be tight the first time. Use a 9mm socket to remove the nuts that hold windshield stoppers, DO NOT DROP THE NUTS! Now, you can push all the pieces up and off the hood and save these for later.
  • Close the hood and clean the area again, to remove any dirt exposed by removing these items, and make sure it is clean and dry before continuing.
  • Measure the distance from the Hood hinges, that are on the rear end of the hood, by the windshield. Measure the rear dimension of the vinyl. Subtract the rear dimension of the vinyl from the hinge distance. Divide this number by 2 and that is the distance that the vinyl should be from each hinge. Place painter’s tape to mark this number on the rear side of the hood and use this tape to center your vinyl.
  • Place the vinyl in between the painter’s tape, while ensuring the rear end of the vinyl is at the end of the hood, do not go over the hood.
  • Use painter’s tape to hold it in place. Use painter’s tape on the side of the vinyl, middle height of the vinyl, to create a hinge of the vinyl. Use multiple pieces of tape to ensure the vinyl stays in place.
  • Remove the fwd end of the backing paper, the white wax paper, halfway and cut it off, while the rear end is still taped and maintains the backing paper, so you don’t have to worry about that end for now.
  • Firmly hold the front end of the vinyl, without causing it to stretch, and lightly lay in place. Ensure it is the correct center and then squeegee the vinyl down with your felt squeegee. You are now ready to install the rear end
  • Remove the painter’s tape and fold fwd to remove the backing paper in the rear end of the vinyl. Ensure you keep the vinyl taught and lay it on the rear end of the hood, squeegee the vinyl down and inspect for bubbles.
  • If you notice any air bubbles, lightly press the center of the bubble, with your thumb to disperse the air bubble into the air channels that the vinyl contains. Use a rolling motion on your thumb to finish flattening out the area
  • Squeegee the entire graphic again, pressing firmly.
