Side Fender Vent Install Guide
Your Sticky Vinylz graphic has been designed for precision and durability. Follow these detailed instructions for a seamless installation.
General Guidelines:
-
Ensure the surface temperature is between 50°F and 80°F during application.
-
Avoid applying in windy conditions.
-
Professional installation is always recommended, especially for large graphics.
Tools Needed:
-
Scissors
-
Tape Measure
-
Masking Tape
-
Felt-tip Squeegee
Step 1: Prepare the Surface Thoroughly clean the surface where the graphic will be applied. Remove any dirt, grease, or residue using alcohol or a suitable cleaning solution. This ensures optimal adhesion.
Step 2: Flatten the Vinyl Lay the vinyl graphic flat on a clean surface to ensure it is free from bends caused by shipping. Allow the vinyl to rest at room temperature for a few hours if necessary, so it flattens out naturally. For this application, transfer paper is not included as it is not required for this one-piece design.
Step 3: Position the Graphic
-
Use painter’s tape to temporarily secure the sharp front corner of the graphic in place. This serves as an anchor point for proper alignment.
-
Gauge the positioning of the rest of the vinyl by aligning it with the vehicle’s body lines. Use the upper trim line and rear body contour as reference points.
Step 4: Remove Half of the Backing Paper
-
While keeping the front end securely taped, peel away and cut off half of the backing paper (white wax paper). This allows you to work with one half of the graphic at a time without disrupting the alignment.
-
Lightly lay the exposed vinyl into position, ensuring it aligns with the body lines.
Step 5: Apply the Vinyl
-
Important: The vinyl adhesive activates with pressure. Only press it into place once you are confident in the alignment.
-
Starting from the outer edges and working toward the center, gently press the vinyl into place. Use your fingers to smooth it out initially.
Step 6: Remove Remaining Backing Paper
-
Remove the remaining half of the backing paper and carefully lay the vinyl in position.
-
Use a felt-tip squeegee to press the vinyl firmly into place, working outward from the center to ensure proper adhesion.
Step 7: Address Air Bubbles If you notice any air bubbles:
-
Gently press the center of the bubble with your thumb to direct the air toward the vinyl’s built-in air release channels.
-
Use a rolling motion with your thumb to eliminate the bubble entirely.
Step 8: Final Squeegee Pass Squeegee the entire graphic again, pressing firmly to ensure it is fully adhered and free of bubbles or loose edges.
Step 9: Repeat for the Other Side Follow the same steps to install the graphic on the opposite side of the vehicle.
Your Sticky Vinylz graphic is now installed, enhancing your vehicle’s look with professional-quality precision and durability. Enjoy the transformation!
